Five Months Into My Internet Marketing Gamble
By Karen Comer
So here I am, very nearly unemployed. Packing up my bricks and mortar business by day and hanging out with various Gurus and Internet Swamis the rest of the time. I've gone from the stress of owning a drowning business to thinking about "what's next?" And no, I can't retire, I live in the USA. I used to be upwardly mobile middle-class under Sir William, but George Bush pulled THAT rug from under my oh-so-optimistic feet. My day starts 5am. I stumble to my groaning computer with a cup of very strong Tetley's tea and look at the latest batch of emails, offering *Secret Formulas*, *Free Traffic Driving Methods* and blah blah blah. By 5:30am I am cynical to say the least, and ready for a second pot. It occurred to me only a few days ago that all this article writing stuff is pretty worthless really. Yes, my header could say "How to Market Articles", "Tips on How to Write Articles", but quite frankly, I couldn't give a flying flip about what the latest thug leaning on a rented Ferrari wants to sell me for $97.97. There is little worth to it, truth be told. And I want to write stuff that people want to read. I write what I write, okay? That's why I have two excellent novels and a screenplay gathering dust on my hard drive. Eat your heart out Hollywood. The latest buzz is that Google's new THANG will be to totally ignore all this crappy article-writing stuff. What? Thousands of boring, badly-written, spun articles containing nothing of any value WON'T be indexed? Gosh! Why don't I look surprised? Well split my infinitive! It's logical captain. The Big G has figured it out, and it didn't take long. Big G's spiders have got major indigestion already. Enough spinning! Go Big G! I'm not saying this is an end to article marketing. It's my hope it is the beginning of a new era of ORIGINAL, UNSPUN articles that actually help people. Yeah, imagine! There's too much BS on the web and it needs to stop. Qondio is setting a great standard, and I am very happy to be here. |

We're glad to have you here, Karen. You hit the BS right on the head!! Trying to get simple information for a simple senior citzen's head to comprehend, is very difficult. Keep up the good work. Best wishes. Frederick
You have a great writing style, and the novels and screenplay gathering pixel dust on your hard drive deserve some airtime. Meanwhile, I'm glad you're not too jaded to contribute here.
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
I am going to revise all of them soon and try to get an agent (again). I use Wordhustler - an excellent company that I can highly recommend - they do all my submissions.
